How fn3 Works

fn3 operates entirely locally on your macOS device:

• Keyboard Monitoring: fn3 monitors the Fn key press to detect the triple-tap gesture. This monitoring happens locally on your device and no keystroke data is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Screen Overlay: When activated, fn3 creates a local overlay window on your screen. No screenshots or screen content is captured or stored.
• Menu Bar Integration: The app runs in your menu bar for quick access. No data is collected through this interface.

Permissions Required

fn3 requires the following macOS system permission:

• Accessibility Permission: Required to monitor the global Fn key triple-tap gesture. This permission is used exclusively for detecting the keyboard shortcut and nothing else. No other accessibility features or data are accessed.

Data Storage

The only data stored locally on your device is:

• A single preference flag indicating whether you've seen the welcome message (stored in UserDefaults)
• No other configuration, logs, or user data is stored

Third-Party Services

fn3 does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external APIs. There are no third parties involved in any aspect of the app's operation.

Network Communication

fn3 does not require an internet connection and does not communicate with any servers. The app operates entirely offline.

Children's Privacy

fn3 is safe for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any data, there is no risk to children's privacy.
